Role Overview

The Project Manager is an experienced construction project leader responsible for the oversight of all construction efforts at a large federal facility. The Project Manager provides day-to-day coordination across design, construction, and closeout phases and is accountable for the quality and completeness of all assigned project deliverables.

 

Key Responsibilities

•     Provide oversight of construction-related activities across assigned facility contracts, ensuring work is executed in conformance with contract specifications, drawings, and approved schedules.

•     Deliver day-to-day project management for construction and service projects, including coordination with customers, design teams, and construction contractors.

•     Conduct schedule and design reviews, documenting findings and communicating corrective actions to the project team and Government representatives.

•     Develop practical solutions to construction problems and existing field conditions, producing documented resolution records for Government review.

•     Review contractor submittals for contract conformance and return dispositioned submittals within contractually required timeframes.

•     Aid the Contracting Officer or COR throughout acquisition phases, including attending site orientation visits, participating in joint contractor/government meetings, and responding to offeror questions.

•     Draft technical responses to contractor-submitted change order requests, documenting scope justification and cost and schedule impacts.

•     Prepare Statements of Work and cost estimates for new contracts and contract modifications.

•     Maintain accurate and current project documentation on the Government-provided network shared drive, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and daily reports.

 

Required Qualifications

•     Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

•     Minimum 10 years of project management experience on commercial or government construction projects.

•     U.S. citizenship required; must be eligible for and obtain a Tier 4 Public Trust background investigation prior to commencing work.

•     Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and mark up construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.

•     Demonstrated ability to draft Statements of Work and cost estimates for construction contracts and modifications.

•     Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for report preparation and document management.

 

Preferred Qualifications

•     Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

•     Prior experience on federal government construction or facility engineering contracts.

•     Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) construction contracting and change order administration.
